Three years ago, you gave me the privilege of serving as your Dallas ISD Trustee. I'm proud to report that the promise I made to fight for every child in District 2 is being kept.
During my first term, I worked with stakeholders to set rigorous Board Goals to improve student achievement. With that focus, our schools are performing at a higher level than ever. Most campuses now earn A or B ratings, and not a single District 2 school carries a failing grade. That didn't happen by accident — clear Board Goals set the direction, and our teachers, principals, and families rose to meet the challenge.
Keeping great educators in our classrooms has been a top priority, and the results show it. Dallas ISD is retaining highly effective teachers at rates that outpace the state average — and when students have dedicated teachers year after year, it makes a real difference.
I've also worked to ensure students have the support they need beyond academics — more counselors, expanded mental health services, career pathways, and robust P-TECH programs connecting students directly to college coursework and industry partners.
This spring, I was proud to support a once-in-a-generation $6.2 billion bond package — approved unanimously by the board — that will rebuild aging schools, eliminate portable classrooms, and modernize learning environments across District 2, all with a minimal impact on your tax bill.
There is more to do, and I'm running for re-election because District 2 deserves a trustee who knows this work, knows these schools, and is ready to keep pushing from day one of a second term.
It would be an honor to continue earning your trust.
Sincerely,
Sarah
